Music has always been the largest passion in
the lives of Nick and Danny Chatelain and they have remained dedicated
to sharing that passion with the world. Known and respected in their native
Spain, Nick and Danny had their first encounter with music at the tender
ages of 8 and 6 years old respectively. Coming from impressive pedigree
certainly had a lot to do with their early exposure, with Nick and Danny’s
father being one of the first deejays to play in Ibiza (Club Nito's) at
the end of the 1960’s. Such early influences combined with years
of experience under their belt are the elements that shape the sound of
their imprints Goanche Records and Marfil Recordings. Two labels dedicated
to bringing the absolute latest in cutting-edge underground music to the
masses. Professionally trained sound engineers in addition to being DJ’s
themselves is what really creates the perfect balance of technology and
creativity in their productions. They began to produce tracks for underground
labels like Maya (Joeski) and Aztlan (Chris Stas) and incorporating their
music into their DJ sets, becoming known for their twisted and energetic
style. Nick and Danny grasped the attention of the legendary Philadelphia
record label Ovum Recordings, with their self created distinctive sound
already earning them respect among the world’s top underground DJ’s.
Their monster track “Is Killing Me” (Ovum) was one of the biggest
Dance records of 2005. In addition to occupying the top 3 positions on
the U.K. Buzz Chart, “Is Killing Me” whipped dance floors into
a frenzy everywhere from Australia to the United States. The track not
only hit number one in several international markets but went a long way
in establishing Nick and Danny globally, thanks in part to massive support
from some of the largest radio stations and DJ’s from around the
world. The track has been one of the most licensed underground tracks in
recent memory having appeared on compilations for Pete Tong, Peter Rauhofer,
Subliminal, Ministry Of Sound, Azuli, Pacha, Cream, Radio FG, among many
others too numerous to name. Recent productions like “Sube Conmigo” and “I
Can Hear You” for Honchos Music (NRK/U.K.), “Love Lies” (Goanche-Spain/Carioca
U.K.) and a collaboration with Mark Bell (Blakkat/Shaboom) has top international
DJ’s the likes of Roger Sanchez , Pete Tong, Danny Tenaglia, Carl
Cox and David Guetta consistently playing their tracks. Their wicked remixes
of Danny Freakazoid (CR2/U.K.), Klement Bonelli Featuring Dragonfly “Nocturnal” (Newlite
Muzik/U.K/.), Funktronica “Listen Here” (Unique/U.K.) and their
work on Litmus (Groove Armada’s label) have only fueled the demand
for their signature sound. When not in the studio, Nick and Danny continue
their hectic touring schedule. They have played alongside such DJ heavyweights
that include Josh Wink, Yousef, Bob Sinclar, James Holden, Tiga, and Nathan
Fake just to name a few. 2006 has proven to be their biggest and busiest
year yet. Nick and Danny Chatelain were recently paid the ultimate compliment
for an international DJ…A residency on the island of Ibiza. The duo
will command the decks for “Penetra” (Penetrate) at the ultimate
jet setter’s venue El Divino on Tuesday nights this summer season.
Their legendary sets mixed with precision will no doubt influence Ibiza’s
