France's freshest young talent, Klement Bonelli has
been paying his dues for several years.
Known primarily for his work in the U.S. with
the Baltimore based Basement Boys label he has ventured out on his own
to start Krome Records. Krome Record’s first scheduled release "Nocturnal”,
featuring Dragonfly caught the ear of Superstar DJ Roger Sanchez who
quickly included the track on his compilation Series Release Yourself
Vol. 4. The track was also licensed to the joint Armani Exchange/Stealth
Record’s “Lush” Compilation. Nocturnal has since been
re-released by Newlite Records in the U.K. with remixes by names like
Nick and Danny Chatelain and Sueno Soul. Klement, with a deep-rooted
history in art and electronic music recalls the sound of "From the
Mind of Lil Louis" influencing him at the early age of 11.
Groundbreaking
radio shows like Laurent Garnier’s show on French radio M40 urged
him to start his record collection. As his vinyl collection advanced,
he began to mix records and invest in the music scene in his native Lyon. He
quickly found himself an active member of the Extra Records Team, with
other DJ's like Jose Lagarellos and Thomas Villard. Klement's residencies
with the best Lyonnais clubs really began to establish him as a house
DJ. It wasn't until he met Rochdee that he found his true love
of producing his own music. Rochdee and Klement produced the track, "Don't
hurt me, featuring Audra Lomax" that was an immediate success in
the UK.
The duo of Klement & Rochdee went on to be the first
French artists on the famous American Basement Boys label. They
joined the roster of other such greats as: DJ Spen & Karizma and
Teddy Douglas. Klement has also established himself as a DJ internationally
spinning alongside names like Louie Vega, Roger Sanchez, Erick Morillo,
DJ Spinna, Josh Wink and Harry Romero just to name a few. Klement’s
distinctive signature sound can be presently heard on “Viet Dao” a
remix done on the Bob Sinclair mixed “Africanism” compilation
of France’s elite Dance music producers for Yellow/Defected Records.
His recent track “Ethna” recently reached American audiences
on the hit show “So You Think You Can Dance?” Klement when
not touring the globe is in the studio working on tracks with accomplished
producers the likes of DJ Spen and Jerome Sydenham
in addition to his many solo projects slated for future release. Look
for Klement Bonelli’s
work on Elephunk, Deeplay Soul Tec, Defected Records, and Stealth Records
among others. Stay tuned for the rise of this French DJ/producer, who
is already considered one of France’s best…..
