SONNY LOPEZ
Has over 15 years experience in Public Relations, Marketing, Events, and Promotions. He started in television working for a production company that boasted such notable writing talents like Alvin Cooperman (the Original Untouchables TV series), Tom Fontana and Barry Levinson (OZ for HBO and several big screen movies) among others. In the early 90's Sonny went on to co-create Ground Level Magazine, a magazine that was cutting edge and became the talk of music industry insiders. He had the privilege of conducting interviews with some of the most important figures in pop culture at the time. He later gravitated towards the Dance/Electronic music scene, doing freelance work for magazines like BPM, Latin Style and websites like Raves.com among many others.
Sonny has worked on multi-media projects from music and DVD releases to clothing/ media sponsorships, club Promotions and event marketing and productions. His marketing experiences have included everything from grassroots campaigns to international multimedia projects. He co-produced Media Music Expo (2002) in New York, a four day multimedia event that attracted over 2,000 professionals from all over the Entertainment industry.
Sonny also produced the first ever “King Of The Beat” battle that was covered by MTV2, NY1 news, Telemundo, Sirrus Radio and various other media outlets. This producer driven competition showcased a unique format that will unquestionably be copied by other event promoters in the years to come. Major events include; New York- Tokyo Anime Film Festival-2001 (New York), Media Music Expo (New York)-2002, The Russell Simmon's Hip Hop Summit (Atlanta)-2003, the M3 Multimedia Summit (Miami)-2005/2006, and the Penetra Ibiza World Tour-2006.
In May 2007 he was hired as the event producer for Stoli Vodka at Self Magazine's Breast Cancer benefit in New York. Artist marketing/PR projects have included; Chris Fortier, DJ Premier, DJ Pierre, DJ Smash and Grammy award winners Roger Sanchez and Maurice Joshua just to name a few. Sonny has also served as International Tour Manager for the last several years touring with House Music icon Roger Sanchez and more recently Trance superstar Ferry Corsten at some of the most well known festivals and venues around the world.
